Feliz Navidad / Merry Christmas

From our family to yours, we pray that this Christmas be a wonderful time of blessing for your family and ministry. This year has passed fast, and we have been blessed as a family. Our now-grown kids have been busy this year with college and career pursuits as they continue to build a new life here in the USA. As for Catherine and I, we continue forward with our goal to return to missionary work. 

We are happy to report that we have raised 65% of our cash budget and half of our monthly support. This year, we have visited 63 churches and pastoral meetings in four districts. We want to thank our home districts and other districts that have welcomed us into their churches and have treated us as one of their own.

We also want to thank the 28 individuals, family members, and friends who have committed to supporting us every month. We can not thank you enough for your monthly sacrificial giving.

We still have more work to do; we aim to conclude this fundraising time in the next four months. We hope to accomplish this by visiting churches and pastoral meetings. We are excited to have 25 services and meetings scheduled for next year. We would love the opportunity to schedule more services and pastoral meetings. Most of all, we need monthly supporters. De nuestra familia a la suya, oramos que esta Navidad sea un tiempo de gran bendición para su familia y ministerio. Este año ha pasado rápido y hemos sido bendecidos como familia. Nuestros hijos ya adultos han estado ocupados con estudios de universidad y el desarrollo de sus carreras profesionales, construyendo una nueva vida aquí en EUA. En cuanto a Catherine y yo, seguimos adelante con nuestra meta de regresar a la obra misionera. 

Con alegría les informamos que hemos recaudado el 65 % de nuestro presupuesto de ofrendas y tenemos la mitad de nuestro apoyo mensual. Este año hemos visitado 63 iglesias y reuniones pastorales en cuatro distritos. Queremos agradecer a nuestros distritos hogar y también a otros distritos que nos han recibido en sus iglesias y nos han tratado como ministros de casa.

Greetings Friends

This is a quick update on our efforts to raise missionary support. All missionaries are called upon to raise three types of support.

1. Prayer – Please pray for the unreached people groups we will be working with.
2. Monthly Support – With your help, we now have 30% of our monthly support.
3. Offerings—With your help, we have preached in over 100 churches. With the offerings received from these church visits, we now have 40% of our cash budget.

We are so grateful to all who have prayed and have given sacrificially every month. Your support has been invaluable. We have been on itineration for over a year, and AGWM has granted us an extension to continue raising our support. We desperately need your help to continue this process and start our missionary work.

Here is how you can help:

1. Pray - We ask you, our dear friends, to pray that the remaining monthly pledges will come in soon.
2. Monthly Support—If you haven’t already done so, will you consider helping us with monthly support? Even a smaller monthly pledge of $25.00 ($300 a year) is a big blessing to us.

Les presentamos un informe breve sobre nuestros esfuerzos para levantar nuestro apoyo misionero. Como misioneros, intentamos levantar tres tipos de apoyo.

Urgent Prayer Request / Petición Urgente de Oración

 

Queridos Siervos en Cristo Hoy nos acercamos a ustedes con una petición de oración urgente. Es difícil creer que estamos a punto de cumplir un año de nuestra promoción misionera. Normalmente, AGWM prefiere que todos los misioneros levanten sus presupuestos dentro de un año, si es posible. Después de un año, se pueden conceder extensiones, pero no son garantizadas. Necesitamos urgentemente 40 iglesias o personas que nos puedan ayudar con una promesa de fe mensual para poder continuar con nuestra itineración. Esta semana estaremos en el concilio distrital de nuestro distrito Sur Pacífico. ¡Necesitamos un milagro durante este evento! Ore con nosotros que Dios levante las 40 iglesias o personas durante este evento. Catherine y yo estamos profundamente agradecidos por el sacrificio que muchos han hecho para apoyar nuestro trabajo misionero. Entendemos que cada promesa mensual  representa un compromiso importante, muchísimas gracias. Siempre hemos vivido con la convicción de que también debemos dar para sostener a otros misioneros. It is hard to believe that we are about to complete one year of itineration. Typically, AGWM prefers that all missionaries raise their budgets within a year if possible. After one year, extensions may be granted but not guaranteed. We desperately need 40 additional churches or individuals willing to make a monthly faith promise to continue our itineration efforts. This week, we will attend the Southern Pacific District Council; we need a miracle during this event! Pray that God would raise the 40 churches or individuals during this event.  Catherine and I are deeply moved by the sacrifices each of you has made to support our mission work. We understand that each pledge represents a significant commitment and are genuinely grateful. We have always lived with the conviction that we must also give to support other missionaries. As we strive to be faithful in our own giving, we are encouraged by the following verses. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 / Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God can bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. Support Update / Informe de Nuestra Promoción Misionera

Our last email newsletter informed everyone that our missions account had a negative balance. We are happy to report that, with God's help and many of you, we no longer have a negative balance. Praise God! We are thankful for every church and individual supporter who has committed to monthly support and gives faithfully. With your help, we will continue building our support and start missionary work early next year. Please join us in praying that the remaining monthly support we need will come in soon.

En nuestro último boletín les informamos que nuestra cuenta de misiones tenía un saldo negativo. Estamos muy alegres de informarles que, con la ayuda de Dios y muchos de ustedes, ya no tenemos un saldo negativo. Gloria a Dios! Estamos muy agradecidos por cada iglesia y persona que se ha comprometido para ofrendar fielmente cada mes. Praise Report
Catherine and I enjoyed two beautiful services last Friday and Sunday. On Friday, we had the great joy of preaching at the Hispanic church's fellowship service in southern Missouri. On Sunday, the Lord moved powerfully among parents at Iglesia Al Faro for Father's Day.

Prayer Request
Visiting churches is one of our primary sources of support. Outside of our need for support, preaching the word of God is simply an incredible blessing. We are trying to fill our schedule during August with visits to different churches. Can you help us pray for doors to opened to preach in churches where we can be a blessing? Catherine y yo disfrutamos de dos hermosos servicios el viernes y domingo pasados. El viernes tuvimos el gran gozo de predicar en la confraternidad de iglesias hispanas del sur de Missouri y el domingo, el Señor se movió poderosamente entre los padres en la Iglesia Al Faro para el Día de los Padres.

    A principios del año pasado, nos invitaron a trabajar con la Escuela de Teología del Caribe. Esta invitación abrió la oportunidad de servir a pastores de grupos étnicos no alcanzados en ocho países. Con su apoyo, bendeciremos a los pastores de diferentes etnias que normalmente no tendrían acceso a capacitación pastoral o herramientas de evangelismo. Le damos gracias a Dios por 30 iglesias y personas que se han comprometido a ayudarnos a bendecir a grupos no alcanzados en las islas del Caribe, Belice, Surinam y Guayana. Nos sentimos tan agradecidos por la ayuda de estas iglesias y personas. En el futuro, nos gustaría seguir compartiendo el amor de Jesús a través de ministerios de compasión y la capacitación pastoral en el aula.

Serving Through Compassion 

    An opportunity to serve is coming during the last week of April. We will help lead a medical team to work among the Arawak people of Suriname. This medical team is one of the first medical outreaches to come to share the love of Jesus among this group. We want to thank Iglesia Pentecostal San Mateo and Iglesia la Cruz de Jesus in Upland, CA, for providing the offerings that made it possible for us to go on this outreach. Please keep this outreach in your prayers. Our vision is to do more outreaches like this one. Will you pray about supporting us monthly?

Celebration of Life | Keith McElfresh | January 6, 2024

Today, my mother-in-law Sharon, my wife Catherine, and her brother and sisters celebrated a beautiful memorial service for my beloved father-in-law. Through his highs and lows, he passionately pursued God. In his final years, I never left his company without feeling encouraged and uplifted.   2 Timothy 4:7-8 applies so well to him:

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Hoy, mi suegra Sharon, mi esposa Catherine y su hermano y hermanas celebramos un hermoso servicio conmemorativo para mi amado suegro que ya está con nuestro Senior.  A través de sus tiempos altos y bajos, siempre siguió a Dios con todo su corazón. En sus últimos años, nunca dejé su presencia sin sentirme alentado y animado. 2 Timoteo 4:7-8 se aplica muy bien a él.

7He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe. 8Por lo demás, me está guardada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no sólo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman su venida.
